Anaka Kobzev

Global Head of Communications, TBWA\Worldwide

Anaka leads PR and communications strategy for global advertising agency TBWA: The Disruption® Company. She’s responsible for internal and external communications for the collective, steering reputation management and helping the agency’s clients create brand communications that are culturally relevant and newsworthy. TBWA was named Adweek’s Global Agency of the Year in 2018, one of Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies in 2019, and to the 2019 Ad Age A-List.

With a passion for helping brands to find their place in culture, she came to TBWA to work with its world class multinational clients and to amplify the company’s vision for Disruption® in key markets around the world. She joined the agency in 2016 from J. Walter Thompson, where she served as Director of Communications for North America.

Prior to her four years JWT, Anaka worked for Interpublic Group as Communications Director on the west coast, working with McCann’s offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Detroit, while providing communications support for IPG’s west coast units. She started her career at Weber Shandwick before moving to the media agency Initiative.

Anaka is co-chair of the 4A’s Agency Communications Committee, and she has served on the Public Relations Jury for The One Show and as a judge for the U.S. PR Week Awards. She was a key part of the team that won Gold for Best In-House Team at the 2015 Global PRWeek Awards.
